I'm having problems with viewing videos again but with sound as well. I updated my drivers and such because that's all I can think of lol...I don't know what else to do. My sound randomly goes out for some reason and when i click the speaker icon on my task bar it says program not responding. Same happens when I try to view a video of any kind.

After I restart my computer everything seems to be fine but it's getting to the point where I have to restart 4 or 5 times a day and I'm going to RQ >:O

EDIT: will try repairing drivers with the cd or w/e when I get it.

open your case, and if you can see something like this...

these are capacitors, and if they fail your chipset may fail, and some times your motherboard may get burned.

these are capacitors too

you can find the last too in GPU´s

some times your PC may restart by itself b/c of this problem

looks like you'll have to check out if something fizzled out, hardware wise

any other symptoms before the problem?

does it have an ATI video card & if so have u updated the driver for it lately? The new drivers for ATI like to install a driver for the HDMI which tends to make the videocard think its a sound card & take over in Windows so u have to go back & reset the default to your onboards sound card
